Part One: Information Architecture Review

Personal Biases

I’m a member of this club and have a unique understanding of this project.

Overview

This is Part 1 of a website overhaul for Lynnwood Rotary and Lynnwood Rotary Community Foundation. I broke this project into smaller chunks because I’m working with volunteers in a volunteer capacity. And since I’m working with a group of volunteers with busy lives, the bulk of the content I will eventually be using to rebuild the websites are moving at a glacial pace, so I want to write up what I’ve done so far.

In this part of the project, I want to address navigation. When this site was built the ad-hoc website committee chose to construct the website using the Club’s five service committee organizational structure as a framework: Community Service, Youth Service, Vocational Service, International Service and Club Service. Each project the Club fits into one of the five committees, which are overseen by a Director and Co-Director.

Client Bio

Established in 1955, Rotary Club of Lynnwood was formed led by President XYZ. Lynnwood Rotary went on to host the largest air show on the west coast for 25 years. Together with their foundation, the LRCF, they've helped educate future generations through college scholarships and early learning grants. They built over 40 houses throughout south Snohomish County since 1975 in a Public-Private Partnership with the School District, and has educated hundreds of high school students in a hot industry. They've built bridges in India, dug wells in Haiti, and trained 1,000 teachers in Indonesia.
